Barbie Ferreira clarifies rumours about her departure from Euphoria, denies having walked off set, and explains why her character, Kat, didn’t have more development in the series.
Barbie Ferreira, known for playing Kat Hernandez in ‘Euphoria’, has once again spoken about her departure from the series in 2022.
In a recent interview on The Viall Files, the actress clarified rumours about her alleged bad relationship with the production and denied having walked off set.
“I never left the set. That never happened,” Ferreira stated. “You could ask the hundreds of people who were there every day.”
The actress explained that her departure was not solely her decision. “After many conversations following the second season, there simply wasn’t a clear path for my character,” she said. “Rather than being directionless for nine months, it was better for both of us to end things there.”
Ferreira also expressed her love for Kat, a character that meant a lot to her. “Kat was everything to me, but I didn’t want to ruin something good. It was a mutual decision.”
In 2022, she had already hinted at her departure on the Armchair Expert podcast, stating that her character had completed her narrative arc and that she wanted to avoid being typecast as ‘the fat friend.’
