Blake Lively condemns sexist threats after suing Justin Baldoni and requests protection of sensitive information in a highly publicised lawsuit.
Blake Lively has asked the court to keep personal and financial information strictly confidential in her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, arguing that she and her supporters have received violent and sexist threats.
The case involves several high-profile figures, and Lively is seeking a court order to ensure that certain details are not disseminated on social media platforms such as Snapchat, TikTok, and YouTube. The sensitive information includes details on compensation, profitability reports, company ownership, creative ideas, film scripts, photos, videos, and health records.
In a letter filed on Thursday night, Lively’s lawyers reported that after messages were included in Baldoni’s amended complaint, a witness supporting her received a threat of sexual assault and murder against their family. Lively herself has also been subjected to pornographic trolling on Instagram.
Meanwhile, Baldoni’s team stated that they, too, have received threats following Lively’s lawsuit, claiming that her accusations have led to hate messages and visits to private residences. They emphasised that “no one should have to face this kind of dangerous rhetoric” and called for the protection of all parties involved.
Both sides will submit a draft protective order before 11 March, with Baldoni agreeing to the court’s standard model, while Lively seeks greater specificity and confidentiality for certain data.
