RM of BTS has sustained an ankle injury ahead of the group’s Netflix concert, which will limit his performance during their long-awaited return.

The return of BTS is surrounded by global anticipation, but also by an unexpected setback. RM, the group’s leader, has suffered an ankle injury just days before the special concert ‘BTS The Comeback Live: Arirang’, set to stream on Netflix this Saturday.

As confirmed by BigHit Music via WeVerse, the artist was injured during a rehearsal on 19 March and was taken to hospital for a full evaluation. The diagnosis revealed a sprain in the accessory navicular bone, a partial ligament tear and a contusion in the talus, which will require limited mobility for at least two weeks.

Despite the situation, RM has shown his commitment to this key moment for the group. “He expressed a strong determination to deliver a high-quality performance on this symbolic stage,” the statement reads. However, the company has prioritised medical advice to prevent the injury from worsening.

This means his presence on stage will be partial, particularly regarding choreography, although he will still take part in the concert.

The event, marking BTS’ first full group performance in nearly four years, is shaping up to be one of the biggest musical milestones of the year, with a global audience watching closely.
