Casa Loewe makes its debut in Shanghai with a spectacularly designed store, blending fashion, art, and craftsmanship in an exclusive space.
The Jing’an district in Shanghai, renowned for its dazzling Jing’an Temple, now shines even brighter with the opening of Casa Loewe. Dubbed ‘The Golden Box’ by Chinese netizens, this store is the Spanish brand’s first in the city and its largest flagship in Asia.

Spanning 650 square meters across two floors, the store features a striking façade composed of 35,536 handcrafted Spanish tiles, creating a dynamic visual effect. Inside, shades of white, brown, gold, orange, and green blend with materials such as concrete, glass, marble, brass, and oak.

Located in the Shanghai Kerry Centre, previously home to Burberry’s flagship store, Casa Loewe has been designed by the brand’s creative director, Jonathan Anderson, to reflect the aesthetic of an art collector’s home. The store showcases design pieces such as mandarin-hued Berin Club chairs, Oliver Gustav sofas, Axel Vervoordt tables, and Isamu Noguchi lamps.

Casa Loewe also exhibits works by artists such as Ken Price, Mahesh Baliga, and Merlin James, along with ceramics by John Ward and sculptures by Dong Han. Additionally, the store offers Loewe’s complete collection of clothing, accessories, and homeware.

The opening of Casa Loewe coincides with Gucci’s departure from Shanghai, following the closure of two stores in the city. The inaugural event was attended by Loewe’s global ambassador, Yang Mi, alongside other Chinese actors and celebrities. For select VIP clients, the experience included private sessions with stars in the second-floor VIP lounge.

The celebration concluded with an exclusive party at Suhe Haus, an artistic venue housed in a former warehouse by the Suzhou River.
