The queen of experimental pop steps into cinema with a project as provocative as her music.

Charli XCX is taking another bold leap in her career with ‘The Moment’, her first feature film produced by A24 and developed under her own company, Studio365. Based on an original concept by the British artist, the film will explore fame, identity, and the price of stardom through the irreverent and self-aware lens that defines her creative universe.

According to Variety, ‘The Moment’ follows a young pop star preparing for her first arena tour while confronting the pressures of fame and the ruthless machinery of the music industry. The story captures the duality between glamour and vulnerability—recurring themes throughout Charli XCX’s music and visual storytelling.

The project marks the feature directorial debut of Scottish photographer and filmmaker Aidan Zamiri, who previously collaborated with Charli during her Brat era. The screenplay, co-written with cultural writer Bertie Brandes, blends pop satire and social commentary with a futuristic visual identity.

The score will be composed by A.G. Cook, Charli’s longtime collaborator and the architect behind the hyperpop sound that reshaped modern pop. His involvement ensures the film maintains the intense, emotional sonic pulse that has defined Charli’s artistry since Pop 2.

The cast brings together emerging talents and established icons, including Alexander Skarsgård, Rachel Sennott, Kate Berlant, Rish Shah, Rosanna Arquette, Jamie Demetriou, Shygirl, and A.G. Cook himself. The biggest surprise is Kylie Jenner, who will make her official acting debut in the film.

Beyond this project, Charli XCX continues to expand her cinematic footprint with multiple upcoming roles: ‘Faces of Death’ alongside Barbie Ferreira, ‘Sacrifice’ directed by Romain Gavras, ‘100 Nights of Hero’ with Nicholas Galitzine and Emma Corrin, and ‘The Gallerist’ opposite Jenna Ortega and Natalie Portman. She will also appear in Amazon Prime’s ‘Overcompensating’ by Benito Skinner.

Set to premiere in 2026, ‘The Moment’ stands as a daring portrait of fame in the digital era—a testament to Charli XCX’s ability not just to follow cultural shifts, but to create them.
