Dakota Johnson and Machine Gun Kelly may have been keeping one of Hollywood’s newest romances under wraps for months. After recently fuelling speculation with several appearances together in New York City, a new report claims the pair have actually been spending time together privately since the summer.
The 36-year-old ‘Fifty Shades’ actress and the musician, also 36, first sparked dating rumours earlier this month after being spotted together in Manhattan. Their outings included a private visit to Taylor Swift’s New York apartment, before they were later photographed returning to a hotel.
At the time, there was nothing to suggest publicly that their relationship was anything more than a friendship. However, sources have now told People that the two have been getting increasingly close away from the cameras.
“They have been hanging out and seeing each other under the radar for months now,” a source close to MGK told the publication.

While Johnson and MGK had apparently met before, the turning point reportedly came at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding in July, where a source claims they “hit it off”.
Their relationship is said to have initially developed as a friendship, with the pair regularly texting before beginning to spend considerably more time together.
“They started off as friends and were texting often, but now they’re spending more time together,” the insider explained. “It’s a very new start, but they’re smitten with each other right now.”
The source added that MGK, whose real name is Colson Baker, is “very into” Johnson and has reportedly been telling friends that the actress is “amazing”.
Neither of them has publicly commented on the speculation, and despite the growing interest surrounding their relationship, it appears they are deliberately avoiding defining exactly what is happening between them.

For now, apparently not. One source told People that Johnson and MGK have yet to put a label on their relationship and are simply seeing where their connection takes them.
“They haven’t put a label on their relationship yet, they are just seeing where spending time together will take them,” the source said.
Another insider offered an even more cautious description, confirming that they have “been hanging out for a bit” but characterising their current situation as “super casual”.
