If you’re into Girls Aloud, Tove Lo or RuPaul, Agnes’s latest single ‘EGO’ is your next pop obsession.

Sweden’s own Agnes is back with a vengeance—and a glitter-drenched anthem that proves she’s not just riding the pop wave, she’s shaping it. Her latest single ‘EGO’, accompanied by a striking music video directed by Swim Club, is a delicious blend of disco, precision choreography and cool Scandi drama. The kind of track that lingers in your mind long after the final beat.

The video leans heavily into visual contrasts—fast vs still, wild vs refined, glossy vs matte—and reflects the song’s core message: letting go of control. Speaking to Gayety, Agnes revealed: “We wanted to play with contrast, speed and stillness, recklessness and control, weirdness and power. Every single person brought their own magic.”

Musically, ‘EGO’ is a masterclass in modern europop, produced by an all-star Swedish team including collaborators who’ve worked with Madonna, Avicii, Swedish House Mafia and The Weeknd. There are echoes of Xenomania’s maximalist style, nods to Tove Lo’s emotional rawness and just enough theatrical edge to please RuPaul fans. But it’s all very Agnes: honest, shimmering, defiant.

The track marks the third single from her upcoming album and continues the bold sonic vision she introduced with Magic Still Exists—an album that earned four Swedish Grammy nominations and praise from the likes of Elton John, Sam Smith and RuPaul himself.

‘EGO’ explores identity, freedom and duality in the most danceable way. It’s not about being good or bad,” Agnes explains. “We’re all more complex than the labels we give each other. It’s only when we let go of control that life can truly surprise us.”

👠 In short: if you’re craving an addictive, stylish and intelligent pop moment—Agnes is serving. Play it loud, and play it often.
