The Argentine singer made headlines in Paris with a look that was hard to defend during Vaquera’s Spring 2026 show.

Paris Fashion Week is, without doubt, one of the most demanding stages on the global circuit. Every detail, every silhouette, every accessory becomes part of an international dialogue on style and expression. In that context, Emilia Mernes appeared at the Vaquera show in an ensemble that sparked more doubts than applause.

The artist opted for a reflective metallic-grey jacket paired with a leather bubble skirt and a beret, completing a look that sought to merge avant-garde with Parisian references, but ultimately tipped into excess. Far from projecting sophistication, the outfit proved unflattering, verging on costume-like and leaving one question in the air: who approves these looks?

Although Vaquera —true to its exaggerated, subversive aesthetic— presented a Spring 2026 collection full of irony, oversized volumes and disruptive codes, Emilia’s outfit looked more like a caricature than an editorial statement. The beret, that eternal tourist cliché in Paris, did nothing to rescue the look.

At times it’s difficult to know whether certain public figures genuinely receive styling advice or simply choose to ignore it. What’s clear is that, on this occasion, Emilia Mernes failed to make the most of the global platform of the front row and ended up clashing with an audience that demands greater coherence, calculated risk and, above all, stylistic identity.
