The fragrance ‘Horseplay’ captures suburban nostalgia, blending homoerotic sensuality and youthful memories into an intriguing and evocative essence.
Gabe Gordon, the New York designer known for his avant-garde approach, unveils his first fragrance: ‘Horseplay.’ Inspired by his Spring/Summer 2025 collection, showcased at the latest New York Fashion Week, Gordon collaborates with Australian perfumer Callum Mitchell, founder of Perdristât, to distill the essence of an American suburb steeped in nostalgia and homoerotic sensuality.

“Memory, time, and decay are central concepts in my textiles. The sense of smell is deeply connected to childhood memories and emotions, so adding a sensory layer to the Gabe Gordon universe was a natural step,” the designer remarked. The result is ‘Horseplay,’ a fragrance that conjures the suburban teenage dream: horse-obsessed girls and football players, all wrapped in a haunting atmosphere.
The composition of ‘Horseplay’ combines notes of hay, rose, leather, and vetiver. This blend delicately balances floral elements with earthy, rustic touches, creating an immersive and evocative olfactory experience. With this launch, Gordon reaffirms his ability to expand his creative narrative beyond fashion, inviting us to explore a landscape as familiar as it is unsettling.
