Nick, Joe and Kevin delivered an unexpected performance aboard the NYC ferry just days before the release of their new album and tour.

New York once again became the backdrop for one of those unexpected moments that only this city can offer: the Jonas Brothers surprised passengers on the East River Ferry with an impromptu concert to mark the beginning of their new musical chapter.

The event, held on Wednesday 6 August, is part of a collaboration with Samsung TV Plus — the platform will stream the official launch of the JONAS 20: Greetings From Your Hometown tour live this Sunday 10 August from East Rutherford, New Jersey. It will also broadcast other key dates from the tour, in cities such as Dallas, Milwaukee, Orlando and Buffalo.

“We’re always looking for fun ways to surprise our fans. Hopping on a ferry and turning it into a concert felt like the perfect New York moment,” shared Nick, Joe and Kevin after the show. “In this city, you never know what might happen — one minute you’re heading to work, the next there’s a concert happening mid-commute.”

The onboard performance — filled with spontaneous selfies and a nostalgia-packed setlist — offered a preview of their upcoming album Greetings From Your Hometown, set to be released this Friday 8 August. The record will feature tracks already known to fans, such as “No Time to Talk” and “I Can’t Lose”, and promises a return to the sound that propelled them to stardom — infused with the sonic maturity they’ve developed both as a band and as brothers.

Between viral strategies, intimate moments and real-time connections with their audience, the Jonas Brothers seem to have found the perfect balance between nostalgia and reinvention. And as they put it: in New York, anything can happen. Even a surprise concert in the middle of a ferry ride.
