Kelsea Ballerini is the latest artist to be struck while performing.

On Wednesday night (June 28), the 29-year-old country music singer was performing at the Outlaw Field at the Idaho Botanical Garden in Boise, Idaho, when she had to stop her concert after being hit in the face by an unknown object.

Kelsea was in the middle of her performance when an object struck her in the face, seemingly hitting her eye, as seen in a video shared by concertgoers on Twitter.

After being hit, Kelsea stepped away from the microphone and began rubbing her eye. Her violinist approached to check her eye and make sure she was okay. Then, Kelsea resumed playing her guitar and greeted the fans, but she eventually stopped performing completely and hurried off the stage.

Kelsea was able to return to the stage to continue the show and shared a message with the audience.

“If you ever don’t feel safe, please let someone around you know. There’s security everywhere tonight,” Kelsea said. “If someone is pushing too hard or if you just have that gut feeling or anything, always point it out.”

“Don’t throw things,” Kelsea continued. “I always want that for my shows, for all artists’ shows, but I have control over this one and I want it to be a safe space for everybody. I have little kids here, can you help me make it that tonight, please?”

So far, it is unknown what hit Kelsea, who threw the object, or how severe Kelsea’s injury was.

This is just the latest in a series of dangerous interactions between performing artists and fans during their concerts.

Bebe Rexha recently had to get stitches after a cell phone was thrown at her face during a concert, Ava Max was struck in the face by a fan who climbed onto the stage, and a fan threw their mother’s ashes onto the stage during Pink’s concert.
