Lisa and Rosalía Dazzle with Star Power in the Stylish Video for ‘New Woman’
Lisa and Rosalía join forces in ‘New Woman,’ a vibrant single with a stylish video directed by Dave Meyers.
Lisa of Blackpink and Rosalía have teamed up for a new, vibrant pop single titled ‘New Woman,’ released under Lisa’s label, LLoud Co., in collaboration with RCA Records. The track, co-written by Swedish singer Tove Lo and produced by the acclaimed Max Martin and Ilya, known for their work with Ariana Grande, debuted on Thursday alongside an impressive music video.
The video, directed by the renowned Dave Meyers, begins with an explosion of energy. Lisa kicks off with rapid verses about walking through fire to rediscover herself as a “New Woman” with a “renewed aura.” With her signature bold style, the K-pop star sings, “Bitch, you better swerve / Revving up my uh-uh-uh-uh-aura,” after introducing the track as a collaboration between “Lalisa and Rosalía.”
The song’s rhythm changes dramatically around the one-minute mark when Rosalía takes over with whispered lines in Spanish: “Yo vivo pa’ cantar, no canto pa’ vivir,” adding an emotional and profound touch to the track.
‘New Woman’ comes after the release of ‘Rockstar,’ Lisa’s first solo single in three years, produced by Ryan Tedder and Sam Homaee. Lisa, who has earned her place as a standout member of Blackpink, continues to achieve global success, solidifying her status as one of the most influential figures in K-pop.
Moreover, Lisa is gearing up for a series of significant performances. In September, she will headline alongside artists like Post Malone, Doja Cat, Jelly Roll, and Rauw Alejandro at the Global Citizen Festival. But that’s not all; the star will also make her acting debut next year in the third season of HBO’s ‘The White Lotus.’ With this role, Lisa becomes the second member of Blackpink to appear in an HBO series, following in the footsteps of Jennie (credited as Jennie Ruby Jane) in the drama “The Idol,” which premiered in June 2023.
The music video for ‘New Woman’ is now available and promises to be one of the year’s favorites.
