An English abbey, an unstoppable plague, and three leading actors. This is the setting for ‘Rapture’, the next big thing in historical horror.
Three of the most sought-after actors of their generation — Manu Ríos, Kit Connor, and Will Poulter — lead the cast of ‘Rapture’, an ambitious film blending supernatural horror with historical drama. Set in an abbey in northern England during a devastating plague, the story follows a group of monks whose spiritual routine is upended by a disease that transforms the infected into monstrous beings. As chaos takes hold outside, the protagonists must decide whether to offer sanctuary or protect the ancient secrets of their faith.
Directed by playwright and novelist Jordan Tannahill, in his feature film debut, ‘Rapture’ promises an unsettling experience with a claustrophobic atmosphere, in the vein of ‘The Witch’ or ‘Saint Maud’. Filming is set to begin this year in Hungary, with a cinema release scheduled for 2026, distributed by Shudder, 2AM, Elevation Pictures and Independent Film Company.
It’s worth noting that both Manu Ríos and Kit Connor were recently featured in Xmag’s ranking of the 20 Sexiest Men of Generation Z, cementing their status as global style and attraction icons.
