Marc Jacobs kicks off New York Fashion Week with Courage, a bold collection that challenges proportions and celebrates creativity.
Marc Jacobs opened New York Fashion Week with Courage, a collection that honours bravery in creativity. Inspired by the idea that fear is not an enemy but a necessary companion, the designer presented a series of looks that defied conventional proportions and elevated everyday garments to new dimensions.

With his signature emphasis on volume, Jacobs transformed classics such as the trench coat, pushing it to the extreme with oversized quilting. He also reimagined the women’s suit with sculptural silhouettes and rounded pencil skirts in British-inspired prints. Standout pieces included dreamlike dresses, from a fairytale nightgown to creations adorned with oversized sequins or rendered in vibrant shades of red and pink velvet.

Accessories were equally striking: shoes with extended, impossibly curved toes, alongside leather handbags destined to become the next It Bags. The collection reflected a bold, spontaneous, and fearless spirit, where personal style took precedence over fleeting trends. With Courage, Marc Jacobs reaffirms his status as a master of theatrical fashion, offering designs that challenge reality and celebrate creative freedom.
