The actress returns to television with a crime drama set in the high-stakes world of competitive horse riding.

Nicole Kidman adds yet another television project to her already prolific career with Girls and Their Horses, a new series in development for Prime Video and Legendary Television, based on the novel of the same name by Eliza Jane Brazier. In addition to starring, Kidman will also serve as executive producer through her Blossom Films banner.

Set within the exclusive equestrian community of Rancho Santa Fe, California, the series follows the newly wealthy Parker family as they attempt to secure a place for their teenage daughters in the competitive—and perilous—world of professional horse riding. A murder that shakes the community becomes the catalyst for an investigation that uncovers dark secrets among riders, families, and trainers.

The pilot will be written by Brazier herself, while Jenna Lamia—who previously collaborated with Kidman on The Perfect Couple—will serve as showrunner and executive producer. This new thriller joins the actress’s impressive recent television slate, which includes titles like Big Little Lies, The Undoing, and Nine Perfect Strangers.

With no confirmed release date yet, Girls and Their Horses promises a blend of family drama, crime, and psychological tension in a setting as elite as it is deadly.
