Virginia Huynh, Diddy’s former partner and “Victim 3”, breaks her silence and pleads for his release on bail.
In an unexpected twist, Virginia “Gina” Huynh — Sean “Diddy” Combs’s ex-girlfriend and the woman identified as “Victim 3” in his federal indictment — has formally requested that the court grant him bail. In a letter addressed to Judge Arun Subramanian and submitted on Sunday 3 August by the music mogul’s defence team, Huynh publicly identified herself for the first time and voiced her support.
“I believe it’s important for the court to have a full picture of who he is beyond the accusations,” she wrote. In her statement, she insisted Combs poses no threat to society and has changed over time: “By the end of our relationship, he was someone marked by love, patience and kindness.”
The letter comes at a pivotal moment. While Combs was acquitted of the most serious charges of conspiracy and sex trafficking, he was found guilty of transporting individuals for prostitution — a felony that carries a sentence of up to 10 years per count. Judge Subramanian had already denied a previous bail request, citing Combs’s history of domestic violence. Nevertheless, his legal team is making a renewed attempt, this time proposing a $50 million bond.
The trial has been surrounded by controversy and harrowing testimony, including a 2016 video showing Combs physically assaulting Cassie Ventura, another of his former partners. Sentencing is scheduled for 3 October, and Huynh’s letter may influence how the court views both his public persona and private life.
