Rihanna reveals details about the launch of her new Fenty Beauty foundation and her future music plans in Los Angeles.
Last week, Rihanna was in Los Angeles launching her new Soft’lit Foundation for Fenty Beauty. In a conversation with Extra, Rihanna talked about her passions across multiple industries.
While there to unveil the brand, Rihanna spoke about the new product, saying, “This is actually the biggest launch we’ve had for the brand since it was released in 2017. This is important for us. It’s a new era in foundation for the brand.” When asked about plans for the upcoming Met Gala, she joked, “Actually, this year I’m going to keep it very simple… Very simple… I think it’s going to depend on my makeup and what I do with my hair. We want to play with that, but I have no idea what I’ll do.”
Later, Rihanna was asked the eternal question of when she will release her new music. Giving a more detailed explanation of why she hasn’t released music yet, she joked about the upcoming music project, “It’s going to be incredible.” On why exactly she hasn’t felt ready to release the new album yet, she said, “It has to be [incredible]—that’s the only reason it’s not out yet. If I don’t feel it and I don’t feel like it represents evolution, the time I spent away. There should be a show of growth, right? I want to play, and I feel like music is a playground, and I want to have fun with it and really show where I’m at.” Regarding future collaborations, Rihanna hinted, “I’m not a big collaborator… It has to be very intentional, so I’ll know when I have the song.”
