Schiaparelli reinvents haute couture in ‘Icarus,’ a collection that fuses nostalgia, innovation, and the pursuit of perfection.
The Schiaparelli Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2025 collection, titled ‘Icarus,’ elevates haute couture to new heights, merging the extravagance of the past with contemporary techniques. Under the creative direction of Daniel Roseberry, the fashion house revives historical materials, such as pre-war ribbons unearthed in Lyon, and transforms them into revolutionary designs that celebrate craftsmanship and ingenuity.

Nostalgic colors like butter yellow, faded peacock green, and burnt saffron brown define the collection’s palette, evoking a connection to the great masters of fashion. Dresses in liquid silk georgette, stretch satin corsets, and 1930s-inspired jackets showcase how Roseberry reinterprets history through a modern lens.

The title ‘Icarus’ symbolizes the constant challenge of haute couture: reaching for the impossible. This bold spirit is reflected in details such as feathers treated to mimic silky textures and innovative tulle dresses that redefine luxury and functionality.
Each piece is a work of art, from the meticulous embroidery to the sculptural accessories. The collection not only honors the past but also proves that haute couture remains a testament to imagination, perfection, and timeless craftsmanship.
