Swarovski brings its exhibition ‘Masters of Light’ to Seoul, showcasing K-pop costumes and dazzling creations that celebrate its legacy in fashion and crystals.

This month, Seoul will be the stage for a stunning K-pop fashion moment to celebrate a new stop in Swarovski‘s traveling exhibition, ‘Masters of Light.’

The exhibit, which has toured various cities, will arrive in the South Korean capital to be presented from October 18 to 30 at XYZ Seoul, located in the vibrant Seongsu district.

The exhibition will showcase an impressive collection of stage costumes and red carpet looks worn by celebrities such as Harry Styles and Rihanna, as well as iconic outfits from global K-pop stars, LE SSERAFIM. In particular, visitors will be able to admire the custom outfits that the girl group wore in the music video for ‘Crazy,’ designed in collaboration with Swarovski to shine with every move of their dynamic choreography.

Additionally, the exhibition will include the five microphones that the members of LE SSERAFIM used during their recent performance at the ‘MTV Video Music Awards 2024.’ These microphones were decorated with a total of 24,000 Swarovski crystals, and each was personally designed by each band member according to their favorite color combinations.

It is worth noting that earlier this year, Swarovski appointed Kim Chaewon, a member of LE SSERAFIM, as its local ambassador in the South Korean market.

The overall goal of this exhibition is to celebrate nearly 130 years of Swarovski’s legacy and influence in the world of fashion, jewelry, and pop culture. The showcase explores Swarovski’s mastery of the art of crystals and its cultural impact from its origins in Austria, where Daniel Swarovski founded the company in 1895, to the present day, under the global creative direction of Giovanna Engelbert.

The exhibition will take attendees on an immersive journey divided into seven sections or ‘Chambers of Wonders,’ where iconic pieces can be appreciated, spanning from the company’s founding in 19th-century Vienna to the vibrant K-pop scene in contemporary Seoul.

Among the highlighted pieces will be a selection of 10 outfits adorned with crystals from fashion houses like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Armani, along with jewelry, figurines, and crystals, including the largest crystal chaton ever created. Other highlights will include pieces from the high jewelry collection ‘Galaxy,’ crafted with lab-created diamonds by Swarovski. The exhibition will be free to the public, with prior registration through Swarovski’s channel on Kakao.

The exhibition, which debuted at the ‘Museum of Contemporary Art Shanghai’ last year, subsequently arrived at the 18th-century Palazzo Citterio in Milan in June of this year, where its inaugural event, held during Fashion Week, attracted celebrities like Jessica Alba and Gwyneth Paltrow.

With this exhibition in Seoul, Swarovski continues to celebrate its history and influence in fashion, showcasing how its nearly 130-year legacy continues to shine globally, especially in the vibrant world of K-pop.
