Following the news of her divorce with Dalton Gomez, singer and actress Ariana Grande might be in a new celebrity couple.

According to sources, the Wicked star is dating her co-star Ethan Slater. The actor played SpongeBob in the musical adaptation of SpongeBob SquarePants, not the film. The Maryland-born actor also received a Tony nomination in 2018 for that role.

Despite the recent news, both artists appear to have met after their respective divorces. They are also set to debut their performances in Wicked on Thanksgiving 2024, where Slater’s character, Bow, has a crush on Glinda (played by Grande).

While the reasons for Slater’s divorce are currently unknown, Grande recently divorced due to post-pandemic blues. According to a source close to the former couple, Grande’s ex-husband, Dalton Gomez, struggled to adjust to her level of celebrity. “He couldn’t deal with her schedule, the paparazzi, and the various opportunities that took her out of Los Angeles.”

However, it seems that Grande has found new love in SpongeBob. It appears that the romantic comedy renaissance is extending to Broadway.
