Director Todd Phillips revealed the inaugural poster, featuring lead stars Joaquin Phoenix (Arthur Fleck/Joker) and Lady Gaga (Dr. Harleen Quinzel/Harley Quinn) engaged in a captivating dance. Beneath the title lies the tagline “The world is a stage”, hinting at the musical aspects of the sequel, along with the official release date of October 4. Phillips also confirmed that the movie’s first trailer will drop on April 9.
“Folie á Deux” will follow Phoenix’s Joker as he encounters Gaga’s Harley Quinn, a doctor assigned to treat him who eventually falls in love with him. Joining the duo are Zazie Beetz, reprising her role as Sophie Dumond, Arthur’s former neighbor from the first film, along with Steve Coogan, Brendan Gleeson, and Catherine Keener.
