Zendaya’s Nail Look is Even Better Than They Appear

Zendaya’s nails look delicious enough to eat.

At the Louis Vuitton Menswear Spring 2024 runway show on June 21, the actress supported Pharrell Williams in his new role as creative director with a charming rendition of the “milk bath” nail trend. Zendaya stayed true to the cloudy simplicity of the original trend but instead of opting for the usual white shade, she chose a dreamy sky blue hue that fans are calling “blueberry milk.” She showcased this sweet manicure alongside her sequined ensemble with a plunging neckline styled by Law Roach.

Typically, “milk bath” nails are characterized by neutral or “milky” colors and have gained a loyal following due to their simple and sophisticated finish. Gradually, some celebrities began to explore the trend further, such as Jennifer Lopez, who added a subtle glossy polish on top, and Sofia Carson, who leaned into “Barbiecore” with a light pink shade. But even with everything we’ve seen so far, Zendaya’s version, visible from the front row of the runway, might take the (blueberry) prize.

It’s not entirely novel to see edible versions of the “milk bath” manicure, as seen in the “strawberry milk” nails worn by Marsai Martin and Florence Pugh. Still, there’s something about the blueberry tone that feels perfect for summer.
