Netflix drops the chilling final trailer for ‘Frankenstein’, Guillermo del Toro’s long-awaited adaptation, ahead of its 7 November premiere.
The creature has awakened. Netflix has just unveiled the final trailer for ‘Frankenstein’, Guillermo del Toro’s highly anticipated reimagining of Mary Shelley’s Gothic classic, set to arrive on the platform on 7 November after a limited theatrical run.
With a dark, visually hypnotic atmosphere, the two-minute preview opens with Victor Frankenstein (played by Oscar Isaac) hiding inside a tent amid a snowy landscape, preparing to confront his creation. But the creature (portrayed by Jacob Elordi) strikes from the shadows, dragging him through the snow as his shelter bursts into flames. The sequence makes it clear that this version will be as visceral as it is profoundly human.
The trailer also offers brief glimpses of the monster’s creation, his connection with Elizabeth Harlander (played by Mia Goth), the townspeople’s fearful response, and the eternal struggle between humanity and monstrosity—a theme Del Toro has explored in films like ‘The Shape of Water’ and ‘The Devil’s Backbone’.
Alongside Isaac, Elordi and Goth, the main cast includes Christoph Waltz, Felix Kammerer, David Bradley, Lars Mikkelsen, Christian Convery and Charles Dance. The Mexican filmmaker produces the film with J. Miles Dale and Scott Stuber, in a bold project set to redefine the Frankenstein myth for a new generation.
‘Frankenstein’ is now playing in select cinemas and will premiere globally on Netflix on 7 November.
A story of horror, redemption and creation — like you’ve never seen before.
