Actors, models and musicians gather at a pre-event that marks the beginning of one of the most anticipated moments on the fashion calendar.
The lead-up to the Met Gala 2026 has already begun, and it has done so with one of the weekend’s most exclusive gatherings. Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez hosted a pre-party at their New York residence, bringing together some of the most influential figures on the global stage just two days before the main event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Among the attendees were names such as Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber, Leonardo DiCaprio, Anna Wintour, Donatella Versace, Nicole Kidman, Sam Smith and Lisa Rinna, alongside other key figures from the entertainment and fashion industries. The diversity of profiles reinforces the event’s cross-industry appeal, where cinema, music and luxury converge in one space.

The 2026 edition arrives with a theme set to spark conversation: “Costume Art”, a concept curated by Andrew Bolton that will explore the relationship between fashion and the body. The exhibition will examine different perspectives, from the naked body to ageing and pregnancy, integrating both historical and contemporary pieces from the Costume Institute. It will also be the first exhibition to take place in the museum’s new Condé Nast Galleries, a space that expands its curatorial possibilities with a more ambitious vision.
Anna Wintour leads the organisation of the event alongside other prominent figures, reinforcing the gala’s global and media-driven nature. Bezos’ pre-party becomes a strategic meeting point where the trends, alliances and narratives that will dominate the red carpet begin to take shape.
