Valentino showcases a cool and snowy white men’s fashion collection for the upcoming Spring/Summer 2024 season.
This has been one of the most anticipated shows of Milan Men’s Fashion Week as they have returned, after three years of combined presentations of their men’s and women’s lines, to organize a solo runway show featuring a men’s fashion collection.
The collection, designed by creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli, presents a masculinity that is bold and daring. The garments aim to redefine masculine identity, demonstrating Valentino’s commitment to redefining the concept of masculinity, a decision we would have liked to see in their previous offerings.

The looks appear “to redefine a masculine identity, to reexamine the meaning of masculinity, and discover a new and modern perspective.” We saw a chromatic range that went from pure whites to shades of gray, black, Klein blue, brown, red, burgundy, green, aquamarine, and that signature “Valentino pink.”
We encountered tailored menswear, contextualized and adapted, with a wide range of shorts combined with various shirts, jackets, or coats. Shorts, therefore, took center stage among the pieces in this collection.
There were reconstructed shorts into skirts with a central opening, a guipure fabric coat/cape, and the black & white floral print. Flowers were used to decorate all kinds of shirts and coats, including a grass-green jacket covered in three-dimensional white flowers.

“Working within the boundaries of tradition allows us to question conventions, break the rules, and activate change from within,” Valentino defends. “Classic work garments, familiar symbols of masculinity, are treated delicately, while the forms throughout the collection subtly evolve, imperceptibly changing in parts to transform the whole,” they explain.
All of this is done under the watchful eye of “pure cotton” in the form of denim fabric, poplin, and double cotton, which “rises” and “offers itself with a new nobility.”
