Gucci has announced the appointment of Davide Buzzoni as its new Global Communications Director, strengthening its brand strategy under the leadership of Alessio Vannetti.
Buzzoni, a veteran in the luxury sector, will report directly to Executive Vice President and Brand Director Alessio Vannetti. His arrival at Gucci marks a significant strategic move as the brand seeks to enhance its global narrative and solidify its presence in the international market.
Buzzoni comes from Loro Piana, where he held the position of Global Head of Public Relations and VIP. His career includes key roles at luxury brands such as Moncler, Prada Group, and Burberry, providing him with a deep understanding of the sector. At Gucci, Buzzoni will oversee the global press office and corporate communications, ensuring that the brand maintains a consistent narrative that reflects its values and vision.
Buzzoni replaces Benjamin Cercio, who left Gucci in March after a brief stint as Senior Vice President of Global Communications. Buzzoni’s arrival comes at a crucial time as Gucci faces the challenge of reigniting its growth under the creative direction of Sabato De Sarno amid a global luxury spending slowdown. The parent company, Kering, is confident that this new direction in communications will drive the brand back onto a growth trajectory.
