Gucci introduces its Autumn 2025 campaign with 42 intimate portraits celebrating authenticity, diversity, and individual expression in fashion.

The Italian fashion house has unveiled its latest campaign for the Autumn 2025 season, reaffirming its focus on authenticity, diversity, and emotional depth. Titled The Gucci Portrait Series, the campaign breaks conventional norms by spotlighting intimate portraits that capture the genuine connection between each individual and the garments they wear.

The campaign features 42 photographic portraits by renowned American photographer Catherine Opie, who brings a raw and honest perspective of humanity through her lens. Steering away from traditional fashion aesthetics, Opie presents a visual narrative rooted in authentic presence, where each person is the protagonist beyond the clothes.

Shot against monochromatic backdrops with cinematic lighting, the models reflect a diverse range of ages, genders, and backgrounds. From distant gazes to relaxed gestures, each image conveys a quiet story, inviting reflection on individual identity within the context of contemporary fashion.

At the heart of the campaign is the Continuum collection, the result of Gucci’s in-house design team. It explores silhouettes spanning from the 1960s to the mid-1990s, merging minimalist and maximalist elements. Here, clothing becomes a medium—rather than an end—to express personality, history, and attitude.

The campaign also includes a series of video portraits directed by Lisa Rovner. In these, participants respond to open-ended questions, revealing fragments of their identity in enigmatic ways. This release marks a pivotal moment for Gucci, as it is the final campaign before Demna, the brand’s new creative director, unveils his vision. His official presentation is set for September during Milan Fashion Week, with his first full runway show scheduled for March next year.
